Good news: Students of our school won the third prize of the 2019 "Teamzero" International Student Architecture Competition

On October 11th, 2019, Wu Haoming and Wang Yaning, the students of our school, won the third prize of the "Architect" magazine · 2019 "Teamzero" International University Students Architectural Design Competition, and directed by Professor Cai Ling and Professor Deng Yi.

The theme of the competition is "Urban and Rural of a Family", which is presented by Zhang Lei, founder and chief architect of Zhang Lei United Architects Studio. The competition was co-sponsored by China Architecture Publishing Media Co., Ltd. (China Construction Industry Press) "Architect" magazine, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Architecture, Teaching Guidance Subcommittee, Shenzhen University School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong School of Architecture and Guangzhou Teamzero Architectural Planning and Design Co., Ltd. The judging work was chaired by the director of the jury, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the chairman of the Architectural Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the professor of the School of Architecture of Southeast University, and the chairman of the editorial board of China Architecture Publishing and Media Co., Ltd., Wang Jianguo, and the judges were: Meng Jianmin, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, chief architect of Shenzhen Architectural Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., Zhang Lei, professor of architecture and urban planning at Nanjing University, director of the Sustainable Local Architecture Research Center at Nanjing University, founder and chief architect of Zhang Lei United Architects Studio, and The University of Shenzhen School of Architecture and Urban Planning special professor, dean Fan Yue and other experts. As of September 8, 2019, the competition received 281 valid entries from 116 universities at domestic and abroad, covering mainland China, Hong Kong, as well as the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Korea and other countries and regions.

The judging process of the whole competition was based on the principle of fairness and strict implementation of the judging process. After two rounds of public voting and the third round of anonymous voting and final discussion, 18 finalists were finally produced. Among them, 1 first prize, 2 second prize, 5 third prize, 10 best prizes. After fierce competition, the works of our school finally won the third prize. The two award-winning students were also invited by the organizing committee to go to Chengdu to attend the award ceremony during the "2019 National Institute of Higher Education Architectural Education Symposium" on October 18-19, 2019.
